Fill The Fridge

5 years ago I had a complicated relationship with food.

I would binge-eat, then feel bad, then exercise a bunch, then eat again. Over and over.

I tried tricking myself, shaming myself, and enlisting a friend for accountability. No change.

Then one day I made 2 simple observations:

  1. I like to eat nourishing food.
  2. When I have nourishing food in the fridge, I eat it, and I don’t crave the other stuff.

This discovery led me to make a meal plan, buy and cook more of my own food, and follow a simple routine each week that ensures I always have 3 tasty meals in the fridge.

The picture above? That’s what my family ate this week:

  • Minestrone soup
  • Chicken green bean casserole on rice
  • Shepherd’s pie

I started this routine 4 years ago.

Now I have an amazing relationship with food: I look forward to every meal. I don’t agonize about food, and I feel great all the time. It sounds pompous as I write it, but it’s true, and it’s been a tremendous boost to the satisfaction and health in my life.

This is not a magic solution for everyone.

In fact, it might not work for anyone else.

But it was a magic solution for me.

And the magic came from identifying one of my personal principles: make sure I have good food readily available.

This week I opened a 12-week coaching program called Changes Made Simple.

Part of the program is to find your personal principles, so you can implement the changes you want to make.

Then you can apply this to whatever you want: work issues, exercise, eating, personal habits, you name it.

You’re the expert on you.

I’m the expert on the process.

If you could change 1 thing, what would you pick?  I’d love to hear.

P.S. – There are 4 spots in the program, and signup closes on Feb. 11 or when spots are gone.

If you’d like me to send you the details, reply back to me with “fill the fridge”.
